Stay Cool, Bestie
Keep that Gua Sha cool
After a day spent out in the sun (or a few too many tiki drinks the night before), giving your skin a chance to refresh and cool down is always a must. Keep your Gua Sha in the fridge so you can enjoy the cooling effect and added de-puffing.
Level up your SPF
Sunscreen every day of the year is a must for healthy, damage-free skin. During those long days spent out in the sun, it’s even more important to make sure that you’re protecting your skin from the sun’s harmful rays which can cause wrinkles, sun spots, premature aging, and an increased chance of contracting skin cancer - all big no-nos. Apply your SPF before heading out for the day and reapply as needed, using your facial cupping set to help your sunscreen melt into your skin. No sun damage here, besties!
Stay hydrated!
Hydration is key when it comes to keeping your skin bright and healthy and during the summer months, when it gets HOT, chances are you’ll be losing some of your hydration as your body sweats and deals with the warmer temps. Don’t skip your moisturizer if you’re worried about looking shiny; instead, swap your skincare products out for gel versions that will still maintain great hydration without adding extra sheen. And keep drinking that fresh H20!
Lighten up
During the summer months, heavy makeup is going to weigh you down, block your pores and melt away when those sweaty moments hit. We’re all about lighter makeup and simple routines that will last all day and night. Reach for oil-free or powder products that will give your skin room to breathe and opt for minimal makeup - we’re talking concealer, light blush/bronzer, mascara, gloss and brow gel for that fresh, summer face.
Cool down
If you - gasp! - do manage to burn this summer, aloe vera is a great way to relieve the pain and start the healing process. Apply an aloe vera gel, which has anti-inflammatory and antibiotic properties, as soon as you get home and continue to reapply when you need a little relief. Make sure you hydrate and drink lots of water too - this is key!
Keep these tips in mind and stay cool this summer while you enjoy all the fun that comes with it.
